On August 8, 2024, a delegation from Leiden University, a member of the Global Alliance for Development of Pharmaceutical Science, visited China Pharmaceutical University for an exchange and cooperation discussion. The delegation was led by Vice President Prof. Dr. Jasper Knoester and included representatives from the Academic Centre for Drug Research and the Institute of Environmental Sciences. They were warmly received by Vice President Prof. Yao Hequan and representatives from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Pharmacy, and School of Engineering at China Pharmaceutical University.
During the meeting, both parties expressed a strong desire to strengthen their cooperative relationship. They reached a consensus on several areas of collaboration, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and the establishment of a joint Ph.D. training program. The two vice presidents signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective universities, marking a new milestone in their partnership and a promising start for future development.
Following the signing ceremony, the participants engaged in academic exchanges and visited the State Key Lab of Natural Medicines together. This visit further deepened the ties between the two institutions and laid the foundation for more collaborative endeavors in the field of pharmaceutical science.
