CPU’s President Leads Delegation to Strengthen Collaborations and Ties with UK and Germany

From November 3 to 9, 2024, Prof. Hao Haiping, President of China Pharmaceutical University (CPU) led a delegation to visit the UK and Germany, marking a significant step in deepening international collaboration.

The delegation visited the University of Manchester, the University of Cambridge, AstraZeneca's global research headquarters and Saarland University, engaging in meaningful discussions on academic collaboration and research partnerships.


On the November 4, CPU delegation participated in the University of Manchester's bicentennial celebration, where both sides signed agreements on postgraduate programs and scholar exchanges.

On the November 5, academic symposiums further deepened ties between the two universities.

The University of Manchester has become a member of GADPS since 2023 and been playing an essential role in the network.


At Cambridge, the delegation had discussions with King's College fellow Dr. Rob Wallach and visited AstraZenecas global research headquarters on the next day. Academic reports were given and both parties reached preliminary agreements on research project collaboration.

      The delegation then traveled to Homburg, Germany, where CPU German Alumni Association was established. Prof. Hao Haiping signed university-level cooperation memorandum with Saarland University on the November 8.


The visitation reinforces CPU's commitment to global cooperation and advancing pharmaceutical education and research.
